Interview with Garlaanx

Dear John,

We'd like to thank you for your application and ask you to please fill out these interview questions. You can answer them at your leisure. Thank you for your support. We hope you will continue to enjoy playing our game.

1. Which country are you from? How old are you? Could you give us 1 or  2 pictures of you? You should provide a photo about you which we can  put it on All Star page. Send your pictures to chloe@igg.com.

I'm from the USA, PA, Pittsburgh Area and Love it here! I'm a 23 year  old male, soon to be 24.  I have a loving fiance who I soon hope to  marry and have a nice family with. All my public photos can be found  at http://www.myspace.com/kunta31 and I will gladly add to photos  along with this interview for the WLO page.

2. How long have you played Wonderland Online? How well do you know this game? I discovered WLO around April 2008 and began playing here and there.

I found the link thru one of the other games I seldom play now. I  started out a total newbie, just like everyone else did, and I soon  fell in love with the game. After I became entwined with the game  better, I made my forum account around Nov 2008 and started  introducing myself around and making a name for myself.  I have done  just about all there is to do in WLO at this point and if I could read  chinese I would download the wlotw version and play it also since its  much further ahead, but alas I can't understand that langauge, so I  will stick to the US version and just wait for the updates. If you  would ask me a question about wlo, I'm sure I could answer it in a  moments notice.  I know the game inside and out, and also as a game  developer myself, I even know some of the aspects of the game that  others may not.

3. How do you feel about Wonderland Online? What attracts you the most  in Wonderland Online?

I simply love the game.  For being a totally free game, it has a lot  to offer a player.  I love the age gap that WLO brings to the table.   I have some friends that are 13, but also I have friends in there  upper 30's!  So Everyone seems to enjoy the game, its just not for  younger players.  I love WLO, because there is so much to do that it  would take months to finish it all.  The fact that everyone gets a  tent as there "home" is a very nice feature.  Not only having the  home, but also being able to decorate it to the players liking!  The  pets are another feature that caught my eye.  Who doesn't love  catching a beast and claiming it to be your own, then showing it off  to all your friends!  I cannot wait until the Unicorn makes an  appearence! I must and will have one!  Another feature I love is the  fact that I can make machines for my tent, and then make more things,  and so on.  I can make vehicles, windows, numerous other things!  You  never really get bored with the game.  If you don't enjoy making  items, or catching beasts, there are also many quests in the game that  you can do.  The one thing I like the most, which some other games  don't have, is a good steady storyline.  Its easy to follow and the  cut-scenes are amazing!  Darn you Fredrico!

4. How many hours do you play Wonderland Online a day? You just said  in your application: I will play it until the end of time. Were so  pleased you like it so much. We have more interesting new versions  coming in the future, and we hope youll enjoy them just as much.

Its hard to give you an exact number, but in a week I would say that I  play WLO about 30-40 Hours.  I work steady midnight shifts at my job,  730pm-730am, and I often play WLO while at work. People that know me,  know what I do for a living, Im a paramedic and also do some other  things, so while I have downtime at the station, I will jump on and  play before I get paged out.  So not only do I leave some of my  accounts running at home, but also I play from work.  Yes, you may  call me addicted.  I will indeed play WLO till the end of time, as I  feel the game is great, and will always be great.  I do indeed look  very forward to v4 coming out and I heard rumors that pet return  scrolls will be in the item mall, I will be most happy if they are.  I  eager await v4 for the new quests, new places to discover, and  hopfully the new furinture in the item mall!

5. You have 13 accounts, and each account has 2 characters, so you now  have 26 characters! How did you accomplish that? What are all these  characters for? Do they have specific duties or roles to play?

Hahaha, Yes, although its more along the lines of 15 accounts and 30  characters now, I had to make a few more since I put this application  in.  At 1st when I started, I had my main account and an alt account.   After I became addicted I soon made more and more.  Each of my  accounts does have a specific duty and only that duty is done by that  account.  I actually have to keep a tablet with me at all times, not  only to remember each login, but also to remember what account is  doing what and where!  I always have my main account that I keep free,  for doing quests, helping guildies, or doing whatever I feel like  doing.  Then all the rest are either farming items with the vaccum,  hunting monsters for matz, or mass producing items.  I also have one  account that is my seller account, that has my shop almost 24/7  running in Kelan. Some accounts are purely for storage use only.  By  this, I mean, that I just use that characters bank/storage space  because there simply isn't enough room for 1 character!  I also have a  few garages on different characters to hold my many vehicles!  Also,  keep in mind that those 30 characters are all on the Cancer Server, I  do have more accounts, I have characters on every server, but I mainly  play on Cancer.  Each server has there own personailty, I enjoy it  very much, but I enjoy Cancer the most.  I would say, all in all, I  have around 17 accounts, and 33 Characters. (yes thats a lot of email  addresses!!!)

6. You have 2 Guilds now, one of it aims to help all newbies (we thank  you for your help and support). However, another one is specifically  for higher level players so as to do difficult quests. Can you give us  some more details on this?

Yes, the first 20k I made, I ran to the Village and made my guild.  I  wanted my own guild to hold all my characters.  I like to be organized  best I can be.  Envy was created not to long after I started and is  run by one of my alts.  Sometimes I sit at Starter Beach and await new  players and give them the option to join the guild, which includes  advice, quest help, anything they may need answered, and I also tell  them that once they become familiar with the game, they may leave to  join a guild that suits them.  I also give them the option to stay and  help my cause.  I would say, that I have influenced around 200-250  players in WLO and helped them out when they first started.  I still  get messages from some of them, thanking me for my time showing them  the ropes.  The other guild, not many people know about and is just a  few of my closest friends that are all lvl 160+, with some rebirths,  that we just go and destory anything we pleased.  My main character  Garlaanx, is currently is in the guild,'TheWrath", and I am most happy  with them.  They are a great great great group of players, just want  to take the time and give a shout out to Valentineh, Rafoi, Wooly,  Astins, Akim, Shadow, Dreamz, and few of my other friends LilScab, and  Quickie.  Without them, I would be nothing.  They are truely great  people and Im glad I had the chance to meet and play with them all.

7. Besides helping other players, do you often join in Wonderland  events? What event(s) do you prefer?

Of course my Fav event is the Trojan War.  We have held the castle now  on Cancer for more then a month.  I often take part in the other  events such as the 15 round challenge, treasure hunt, and Q&A.   Sometimes I even have events of my own for any and all players to come  in and join.  Random drop events are the best. Sometimes I just shout  in the world channel I'll be dropping free items at Starter Beach and  everyones usually has a good time.

8. Do you have any strategies for playing Wonderland to share with us?

For newbies, do you have any advice for them? Most newbies need help with gold.  All I can say is that gold is easy  as pie to get.  Make sure you go get your remote, and just AFK over  night in the kelan caves (mines), and sell all the ore you get to the  shopkeeper.  You can make an easy 7k a day just from that alone.   There are so many ways to earn gold in game its not even funny.  When  I first started I farmed 100k from the mines alone before moving onto  other things.  Now my shop sells matz for others to use are low  prices.  My normal profit rate is anywhere from 200k-300k a day.  Of  course sometimes its lower, and sometimes its higher, just depends on  the market and what people need/want. I just want to say to all the  new players out there, that never give up, there are always ways to  gain gold, and never beg.  Asking for advice is one thing, but beggin  isn't cool!

9. As a player, whats your opinion and suggestion for Wonderland Online?

I have one big suggestion for WLO.  I think that WLO should have  in-game GM support.  And by this I mean, that not once have I ever  seen a GM in-game other then for events.  There is so much swearing  and other things that need handled in game.  There needs to be rules  set out, and there needs to be a GM online to make sure the rules are  followed.  I have played many MMORPGs in my 15 years experience and  this is the only game that Ive ever played that doesn't have GM's in  game.  There are a lot of things that need handled such as Kill  Stealing, Spot Stealing, Scams, Etc.  We have Moderators on the  forums, theres no reason we can't have Moderation in game.  There  should be GM's assigned to each server in-game patrolling the streets  and make sure everyone is playing right.  There are a lot of children  playing this game that don't need to see half the stuff I see in chat  everyday.  I don't mind it, but Im an adult.  Of course I can turn the  chat channels off, but why should I have to?  Its part of the game.   Some of you may agree and Im sure others will disagree, but I think it  needs done, and soon.  Its getting a little out of hand in my opinion.    Thats all I really have to say, the game is awesome, could use a  little more storage space though! hahaha.  Anyway, Thank you for  giving me the chance to interview and thank you everyone for reading  it.  This is big daddy Garl, signing off!
